2017infinitiqx60475Seating seven passengers, the Infiniti QX60 is a cross between a minivan and an SUV. Featuring conventional doors, the QX60 removes the minivan moniker, however the seating is worthy of the best minivan but it looks so much smarter.

A tweak of the engine in the QX60 produces more power without loss of mileage and is new for 2017. There’s also a larger touchscreen, automatic liftgate and adaptive high beams available.

Available in only one trim level, the QX60 has a multitude of options to make the car yours. My test model was equipped with the Premium Package, Premium Plus Package, Theater Package and Deluxe Technology Package. Some of the highlights of those options are: Bose 15-speaker audio system, delivering theater-worthy sound; second row dual 8” color monitors, to keep the kiddos occupied, second and third row moonroof; voice activated navigation; and hands-free liftgate, plus much, much more.

2017infinitiqx60intA 3.5-liter, six-cylinder engine powers the QX60 delivering 295 horses and 270 lb-ft of torque; up 30 horses from last year’s model. You won’t be wanting for acceleration as the continuously variable transmission makes the car zip. Mileage estimates for this substantial vehicle are 20/city, 27/highway, and 22/combined mpg.

On the inside it’s all luxury with fine leather and wood touches. Front seats are comfortable and second row seats are roomy top and bottom. Third row seats are easy to access and don’t suffer from limited headroom but legroom is cramped.

The technology is easy to use with thoughtfully place controls. Everything is pretty logical and I didn’t have to reach for the driver’s manual once during my test drive.

There are plenty of nooks and crannies to store all of the things a family needs for day-to-day driving. There are even 14 cupholders, that’s a lot of coffee. Cargo area in the back is limited when the third row is up, but when it’s down it’s spacious.

Driving the QX60 is a dream with a smooth ride and quiet cabin. It has great pick up, but the turn radius is quite wide as is to be expected from such a large car.

Got a large family or lots of people to move? Give the luxurious 2017 Infiniti QX60 some consideration.
