2017kiaforteex475Looking for a compact car with all the extras without paying extra? Then the 2017 Kia Forte EX just may be what you are looking for.

For 2017 the Kia Forte gets a peppier engine that delivers better gas mileage. Imagine that: better acceleration and improved gas mileage! A freshened front end and added Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity make the Forte a great choice for a compact car.

The Kia Forte sedan comes in three trim levels: LX, S, and EX trim levels. This review will focus on the EX trim level.

2017KiaFortedashWith foglights, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED turn signal indicators on the mirror housings (and puddle lamps underneath), LED taillights, keyless entry and ignition, ambient interior lighting, leather upholstery, heated front seats and dual-zone automatic temperature control with rear vents, the EX trim is the top of the line.

There’s an optional Premium Plus package that was included on my test model that added a sunroof, power driver seat and the extra safety technologies plus adaptive xenon headlights, a navigation system, cooled front seats and driver memory settings.

The Forte gets 147 horses and 132 pound-feet of torque from the new 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. It is paired with a six-speed automatic. Mileage estimates are good at 25/city, 33/highway, and 28/combine mpg.

2017kiaforteintThe interior of the Forte is worthy of a more costly car with high-end materials and easy to use gadgets. Buttons and knobs are placed easily within reach and the 7-inch touchscreen is easy to see and use with big virtual buttons.

Both back and front seat passengers will be plenty comfortable. Both seats offer plenty of leg room and cushy seats. Cargo space is good to with 14.9 cubic feet and more with the back seats down.

With smooth shifts and adequate acceleration, the Forte is plenty fun to drive. Passing cars is a breeze and cornering is steady. The ride is comfortable without being squishy and the cabin is a quiet place to be.

When looking for a compact car with all the bells and whistles be sure and give the 2017 Kia Forte EX a test drive.
