2017 Kia Optima SX Limited: Value Without Compromise

A large sedan, the Optima is inviting with plenty of options to mix and match for your perfect vehicle. After a complete redesign in 2016, the Optima comes into 2017 with only minor changes to available packages.

The Kia Optima comes in four trim options: LX, EX, SX, and SX Limited. This review will focus on the SX Limited.

The top of the line SX Ltd., sets itself apart with a 360-degree parking camera, wireless smartphone charging and upgraded leather upholstery. This is in addition to a whole slew of features like,18-inch wheels, LED taillights, dual-zone automatic climate control, additional USB ports, upgraded headlights, LED daytime running lights, power driver seat, driver-seat memory settings, heated front seats, heated steering wheel and 8-inch touchscreen. These are just some of the goodies, a whole list would take up most of a page.

If you like power, the Optima SX Ltd. will not disappoint with its turbocharged 2-liter, four-cylinder engine you’ll be flying down the road with 245 horses and 260 lb-ft of torque. There’s a six-speed automatic transmission to make your drive smooth. Expect to get 22/city, 31/highway, and 25/combined mpg.

The front seats are comfortable and there is plenty of room for backseat passengers. There is plenty of room for cargo with 15.8 cubic feet of space.

Driving the Optima is a breeze. With it’s turbocharged engine, passing is a easy and acceleration is quick with no torque steer. The cabin is quiet and ride is smooth.
