2017toyotaavalonhybrid475Who says you can’t have a comfortable car and fuel economy too? Not the 2017 Toyota Avalon Hybrid, it delivers on both. For 2017 the Avalon Hybrid gets the Safety Sense package of forward collision warning, automatic pre-collision braking, and lane departure warning and intervention, as standard equipment.

If you think that you have to sacrifice roominess and comfort for a smaller carbon footprint, the Toyota Avalon Hybrid is here to prove you wrong. Stylish inside and out, the Avalon Hybrid brings a large sedan body with an economy heart. Going nearly 700 miles between fill-ups can make any driver feel virtuous and comfortable!

The Avalon Hybrid comes in three trim levels: XLE Plus, XLE Premium and Limited. This review will focus on the XLE Premium trim.

2017toyotaavalonhybridintThe XLE Premium adds foglights, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, driver-seat memory settings, Qi wireless smartphone charging and Entune Premium Audio with Navigation and App Suite, which includes a navigation system, smartphone app integration and nine speakers to the already loaded base model.

A 2.5-liter four-banger gas engine paired with an electric motor powers the Avalon delivering 200 horses. A continuously variable transmission sends that power to the front wheels. Mileage estimates are excellent at 40/city, 39/highway and 40/combined mpg.

European-styling punctuates both the exterior and interior of the Avalon Hybrid. Posh materials used throughout the cabin give it a luxury feel. The spacious seating brings the comfort both front and back. Even the trunk is roomy with 14 cubic feet, even with the battery pack.

Driving the Avalon is a joy with secure handling and a smooth ride. Excessive road noise does not detract from the driving experience, even the gas motor is quiet.

Want to feel virtuous without sacrificing comfort and style? Give the 2017 Toyota Avalon Hybrid a test drive.
