2019kiak900475A vast improvement over the previous incarnation, the newly redesigned K900 is more in keeping with the vehicle’s intent of a luxury sedan at a lower-price point. With an attractive exterior and roomy and comfortable interior, the K900 does not disappoint.

With seating for five, the K900 come in one trim level, Luxury. There is also one option which is the VIP package. This review will focus on the K900 Luxury with the optional VIP package.

Standard features on the K900 are numerous but some of the highlights are: leather upholstery, a 16-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, three-zone climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, wireless charging, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, and a 17-speaker Lexicon premium audio system. Also of note are 19-inch wheels, heated and auto-dimming side mirrors, full LED lighting, automatic wipers, a traditional sunroof, a hands-free trunk, and keyless ignition and entry.

2019 K900The optional VIP package adds an LCD instrument cluster, power-adjustable and ventilated rear seats, a wireless charging pad for the rear seats, and a premium headliner.

A 3.3 liter twin-turbo engine powers the K900 giving it 365 horses and 376 pound-feet of torque and there’s no turbo-lag either. Put your foot on the accelerator and this baby kicks it into high gear! An eight-speed automatic transmission shifts easily through the gears ans there are paddle shifters if you wish to shift on your own. Expect to get 18/city, 25/highway, and 21/combined mpg.

On the inside the K900 is luxury personified with sumptuous Nappa leather seats, matte wood trim and real metal accents. Everything is put together to please the eye and the body. The seats front and back are pleasingly plush and instrument panel is easy to see and use. Kia’s Uvo infotainment system is intuitive to use and the voice-activated system works well.

A cool feature on the K900 is that when you click the turn signal, there’s a picture that pops up on the instrument screen from the side-view cameras. It’s a great feature, especially if your side mirrors are not adjusted properly.

Driving the K900 is a pleasure with a quick responsive engine and plenty of horsepower. The suspension is what you’d expect from a luxury car, a bit floaty but comfortable. Steering is tight and the K900 handles well around curves.

If you’re looking for a luxury sedan that looks every bit as attractive as those “other” models, give the all-new for 2019 Kia K900 Luxury a test drive.
