2019toyotaavalon475For 2019 the Toyota Avalon has been redesigned with a younger market in mind. Bridging the gap between a luxury car and a sporty sedan, the all-new Avalon brings it with a sharp exterior and soft interior. The outside has a new face that is reminiscent of a Lexus while the interior sports perforated leather touches; more like a Lexus than a Toyota.

The midsized sedan, 2019 Toyota Avalon comes in four trims: XLE, Limited, XSE, and Touring. This review will focus on the XSE trim.

With 19-inch wheels, piano black exterior treatments, a sunroof, a rear spoiler, augmented engine intake noises, paddle shifters, aluminum interior trim and microsuede seat inserts, the Avalon XSE is the sportier of the models.

2019toyotaavalonintA 301 horsepower, 267 pound-feet of torque six cylinder engine powers the Avalon. An automatic eight speed transmission makes everything mesh. Expect to get 22/city, 31/highway, and 25/combined mpg.

The interior of the Avalon is well-appointed with soft, comfortable heated seats. Both driver and front passenger seats are power adjustable. The rear seats are also comfortable and there is plenty of room for passengers. The sunroof cuts the headroom in the front somewhat, so taller drivers may find their heads brushing the roof.

With its V6 engine, the car has power and plenty and it delivers with quick acceleration when needed. The suspension is set for comfort so all but the worst road imperfections will be dampened. Although sporty in look, handling is a little less-than as befitting a comfort sedan.

Like a nice cushy sedan with a sporty look to get around town. Give the 2019 Toyota Avalon XSE a test drive.
